Camping de la Pointe du Talud is a great place to rent a holiday in South Brittany. Our campsite is located less than an hour from Quimper: it is very easy to access to discover its charms and history. Quimper is a city of Art and History and the capital of Cornwall.
Quimper, a city of Art and History
Quimper, whose name means "confluence" in Breton, has been labelled a city of Art and History thanks to the quality of its architectural heritage. Indeed, archaeological research and the discovery of pottery and dolmens bear witness to the occupation of the city and its surroundings. From the 15th century onwards, the city was the capital of the bishopric of Cornouaille and that of the duchy. Its preserved heritage reflects the rich history of this city and the odet that crosses it is considered today as the most beautiful river in France.
Places to visit in Quimper and its region
There is no time to be bored when you are in Quimper! The City has many surprises in store. It is difficult to visit Quimper without a visit to the Place St Corentin where the eponymous Cathedral, the bishops' palace and the Breton departmental museum tell us the history of this city. Along the Odet, sumptuous landscapes parade, including the garden of the Priory of Locmaria, which has been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label.
