To visit the island of Groix is to appreciate the jewel of the Breton islands. There’s a popular saying: “He who sees Groix sees its joy! And you won’t be disappointed. Discover its treasures during a visit lasting one or more days, and follow our 4 tips to immerse yourself in this Breton island.
1 – Enjoy the crossing
When you say island, you say crossing!
The experience begins with a 45-minute boat crossing from Lorient to discover the Lorient roadstead from a new perspective, admire the Morbihan coastline, smell the sea spray and disembark at Port-Tudy, a popular marina on the island of Groix.
You can also cross from Lomener with Laïta Croisières, which offers one daily trip in high season.
This is a 48-seater boat, so Booking is compulsory on the website.
2 – Rent a bike
The island of Groix can’t be visited by car, but on foot or by bike. A number of rental companies offer electric bikes so you can explore the island at your leisure, and climb the few hills that are there. More than 40 km of cycle routes will take you to the four corners of the island.

3 – Don’t miss the must-sees
If you want to see it all, you’ll need several days from our campsite in Morbihan. But there are already a number of natural must-sees:
